The Countdown is On!

4 weeks and 4 days until I get to go home - I'm super excited! I haven't gotten home as many times this year as I would have liked, although I will get to go home in the end of September, then for Thanksgiving and Christmas, for which I'm very grateful. My cousin Karen is getting married September 22, thus the main reason for my trip, otherwise I would have gone home over Labor Day to help celebrate Mark and Molly's 5 year anniversary and Scott's Birthday. Given these events are only a couple of weeks apart, I had to pick just one.

I spent a few days in the south this past week - in Huntsville, AL for work -- it was HOT HOT HOT!!!! 105 one day, then 106, then, [only] 100. Feels like a Fresno summer, although it was also somewhat humid. The humidity doesn't really bother me much anymore. I've realized a tremendous difference since the first summer I lives here. I'm just more used to it now, and I think I actually prefer it to the nasty hot hot hot long summers in CA.

My left ankle is a pain. I've worn the boot for 10 days now, but it has felt like eternity. Steps are the hardest, and gee - what is in my townhouse? STAIRS! I start physical therapy on Thursday.

I watched the Nationals play the Mets Friday night, unfortunately, we lost to the Mets -- they are nwo on a loosing streak :( Today after church, my friend Anna and I wetnt ot see of the Mimi's Cafe that is being built was done yet, but it wasn't so we'll have to wait another month or so until we can enjoy eating there.

Lincoln is doing good - he survived his first time being alone for a couple of days while I was traveling. When I got home Friady evening, he did want A LOT of attention, however. It was very clear that he still loves me!! This Friday, he gets neutered - let's see if he still loves me after that!

I finally got my new phone - I REALLY like it. I was able to turn on my old phone to get my phone numbers too, thank goodness.

That's it for me. I'm tired and am going to have two very long days coming up.
