Better weeks
Well I've certainly had better weeks in the past. Monday on the way home from work, my front brakes were making a horrible noise, so I took my car in Tuesday morning and found out I needed new front brakes, rotors, and tires. Now $700 later, I'm hoping that is my last big car bill for a while!!
Friday I finally had my left foot looked at by an orthopedist. The injury occurred 16 months ago, and has not gotten any better in that time, in fact, I think it has actually gotten worse. I have Achilles Tendonits, which basically means that my Achilles tendon, which is the largest and strongest tendon in the body, is inflammed. The tendon attaches to the heel and connects the leg muscles to the foot. Well the screen door attack I survived ended up damaging the tendon and actually caused the heel to grow extra bone in the back (there is a little lump that can be felt on my foot). That extra "growth" is called "Haglund's Deformity", and causes "Bursitis", which includes swelling, pain, and redness, of which I had had all three. I now have a large "boot" that I am wearing on my left foot - for a month to start. Wearing the boot, along with physical therapy, will hopefully take care of the problem, however if it doesn't, they only alternative is surgery. I'm praying that wearing my new fashionable footwear will fix it, because I DO NOT want surgery!!!
Friday night my cell phone broke. The stupid phone - it comes on, but the only thing on the screen in the battery life - oh great - how helpful...I have a full battery, but can't make or receive any phone calls!! Saturday I went to purchse a new phone, but of course, as if always the case with my phones, my phone was 2 days past the one year warranty, meaning I would have to pay full price for a new phone. Thankfully, the guy at AT&T was helpful and told me I could purchase one online with a discount through my company. So I've done that, but I don't have a phone until it arrives (hopefully tomorrow) and it's charged.I saw a couple good movies this weekend with friends, ran a few errands, and worked with the kids at church tonight. Now I'm off to bed!
