Sightseeing/Scares/Kickboxing/Brakes/SNOW/American Idol

[D.C. Sightseeing]
This past weekend was a blast! Ashley, Hannah, Cluckers, and I headed into D.C. so Hannah could see the sights - I think we saw everything - except the Jefferson Memorial up close. I even saw a Cherry Blossom tree in bloom, which is WAY early, but with the weather he were having, the poor trees have become confused! I'll get around to posting pictures this weekend.

[Wouldn't be life without a scare or TWO]
Had two scares when my guests were here Sunday/Monday - the first was when Ashley heard my front door open from upstairs at 1am - I'm still not sure what happened, but I had left my front door unlocked, so I slapped my hand at that! The sheriff dept. came and scoped out my place - luckily noone was found in or around my house :) Monday morning I practically blew up my brand new espresso machine. Apparrently there was a major air lock in the machine, and when I removed the filter holder after brewing the first two shots of espresso, there was a loud POP - and espresso was all over the counter, fridge, and backsplash in my kitchen. Shot glasses were broken from the force of the air pushing the filter holder down, but the good news is that I found replacements for only $5.

[Kickboxing!]
Jab! Cross! Undercut! Lunge! Yesterday I started my cardio kickboxing clas at work. It's tons if fun, and a work-out for sure! I'm ultra sore today because I think I worked out some muscles I never knew I had. The class is every Tuesday! I'm going to practice my moves at the gym throughout the week.

[Sqeaky brakes]
My car has had sqeaky brakes ever since a month or two after I bought it in July. I finally took it in today and found out they still have 5,000 - 10,000 miles left - thank goodness! Got the brakes lubed, tires rotated, and the oil changes for only $80 - not bad.

[Did I hear SNOW in the forecast??]
There is FINALLY a chance for snow! Tomrrow, and a day over the weekend we may actually have snow. I'll believe it when I see it - the weather JUST got cold yesterday - we went from the 60's to the 30's overnight. Crazy weather.

[American Idol]
There are some horrible singers this season in the tryouts - of course most of them know they can't sing but stand up there anyway and do it just to get on T.V. I'm looking forward to watching the "real" shows - I guess they start in a couple of weeks?
