I've been a lazy blogger recently

Two weeks ago I finally finished caulking my shower - it was hard work, but I'm proud that I managed to compelte it without calling in a contractor. Not that I am looking forward to caulking any more showers, but I'm sure I will have to someday.

I booked my flight home for Thanksgiving! I'm taking the three days off before Turkey day, so I get to be in CA for a whole week - yippee! I fly into Fresno on Saturday, and then fly back to VA the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to seeing my family, meeting my cousin's daughter Amanda, and spending time with friends. I'm also looking forward to the time off from work!

Last weekend, Mandy came to visit from CA! Friday night we went to dinner and then hung out at home. I helped Mandy update her myspace page, which I see she is frequenting, although she wasn't too sure if she would or not. It was a great time to catch up! Saturday, we drove to Lancaster County and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We visit Kitchen Kettle Village, which I sampled jams/jellies, and we had the best lunch ever at a local cafe! We drove around Lancaster and had to stop for the yummy Amish-made pretzels that are to die for - definitely worth $1.50! I also bought a pumkin, which I was quite excited about. The pumpkin is chilling out on on front steps by itself. I plan to remedy that next weekend by going pumpkin picking with my small group girls and some other small groups. Saturday night, Ashley arrived and we had a nice girls evening-in eating pizza, playing cards (Mandy and I taught Ashley how to play Nertz!), and chatting. We were up late, so Sunday we slept in and were laxy around the house until we decided to go see Little Miss Sunshine. It was a good movie, although there was too much fowl language and some scenes I could have done without. The story line was very cute, however, and we all three enjoyed it. We went into DC and did a bit of sightseeing, and then headed to Famous Luigi's for a late Italian dinner. We made is home a few minutes late to watch Desperate Housewives, and hung out the rest of the night. Monday morning came way too soon, and both of my dear friends had to leave, and I had to go back to work. No fair.

Thursday I went to church to the kick-off of the new singles group at church called Relevant. It's for 30-50 year olds. Now, I must say that I have never thought of myself as fitting in with this crowd, but I think I am slowly coming around. Being that I'm almost 30 (which I'm also still struggling with), I'm realizing that hanging out with 20-somethings isn't the right crowd for me anymore. Hard for me to fathom really! The message that night was about change, a subject I need to take more seriously, as there are several areas of my life I'm looking to make change in. Afterwards, we had social time, which was a blast. Apparently, my foosball abilities are pretty good, and I enjoyed playing a dozen or so games that night with a variety of other players. I'm a very competitive person, and I guess I;m pretty good on offense! I do have to admit that I was on the winning foosball team at Junior high summer camp years and years ago, so it looks at though I've found my sport - lol. I'm excited to continue attending Relevant - the only problem is that it is the same night that small group meets. More on that another day.

Last night I had dinner with a friend and we spent the evening scrapbooking. It was a lot of fun to catch up with her, and I got to scrapbook my friend Hannah's wedding. I have 3 more weddings to scrapbook from last year, and then I'm going to start my Alaskan cruise scrapbook. I'm hoping to being it before this year is over - someone ask me how it's coming along so I stay motivated!!!
