A visit with my younger brother
My younger brother came to visit me Saturday on his way home from working in England for two weeks. On Sunday, he helped me get my email situated on my new computer, fixed a wobbly ceiling fan, and assisted me in picking the right color of paint for my bedroom. We matted and framed a picture of my brothers and I in our graduation gowns - a gift that will be presented to my grandparents at their 60th Wedding Anniversary celebration this Saturday. I took him into DC and we had dinner at my favorite resuarant - Luigi's. And of course, we did the nighttime memorial tour as well!
On Monday, my friend Emily gave us a guided tour of the Capitol. She works for a VA Congressman, so we got a great, personalized tour :) We walked all the way to the White House, and my feet were killing me! It was cold out yesterday, so our brief stop at Caribou Coffee before taking the metro back to Arlington National Cemetary, where I parked, was a nice treat. We had a late dinner at a Spanish Tapas restuarant with one of his friends who lives in the area, and then headed home to my place. I had to drive to Baltimore last night - and I didn't leave until 11:15pm!
Here are a few pictures from this weekend! :) The one with the big white star in front of Mark and I is the official center of DC!
