blawg blawg blawg
Blah blah blah on the blog blog blog, my weekend was fun! Ashley and I hung out again - we watched a great movie: "I am David" - actually "Soy David" - due to the Spanish subtitles we endured throughout the ENTIRE movie. Are we learning spanish you ask? Of course! not - I haven't found my DVD player remote yet, so not only can I not watch movie extras, I can't change the subtitles. Yah, it was pretty funny - I think we did learn a bit of Spanish tho!
Yesterday we went to the WWII Memorial in DC - it was a beautiful day in DC and there lots of people sightseeing. George Washington University's graduation let out just before we arrived, so there were extra visitors. Then we went to Alexandria and had Tapas for lunch. Tapas is Spanish food (yes, we were still in the Spanish subtitle mode - okay, not exactly!) and we really enjoyed it. We ordered several Tapas dishes and saved room for yummy dessert (I'll post a picture very soon, as I'm getting high-speed internet access (FINALLY!!!) tomorrow afternoon at home). Then we drove along the George Washington Parkway to Mt. Vernon, the estate of George Washington. Unfortunately, we didn't take the tour, since we had church at 5:30, but we will go next time! The GW Parkway goes for miles and miles along the Potomoc river, and, although the river was quite brown, it was magnificent and there were lots of people out and about running, biking, and skiing.
Church was awsome, as usual - we sang some really amazing songs last night and the message was the ending to a 4 part "Love Logics" series - being equally yoked. What am importnat topic. How many times do Christians meet other Christians who they think would make a good mate? How often does the couple, if they begin dating, stop and look at the spiritual conectivity in their relationship? I look at so many of my friends and their spouses and I thank God that they took the time in their relationships to evaluate this most important aspect of a relationship and to develop healthy spiritual connection with each other. Isn't God good?
Back to work today - I ended up going to Crystal City afterall today. I was told on Friday that a meeting I was supposed to go to was postponed, and then whenI got to work this morning, I found out I had to go afterall. Not a big deal - at least I got to go have a normal lunch with a co-worker after the meeting, as opposed to the usual ham and turkey sandwich from the deli downstairs.
Thank you to my friends who are keeping me in their prayers - I truely felt them today.
