A relatively quiet Monday night at home

[My birthday]
I spent last Tuesday night with Katie Patrick - straight from Antartica! That girl, I tell ya - she has developed a resistence to cold weather! It was a great time hanging out and getting caught up - AND she took me out to celebrate my birthday, which was tons of fun! Here's a picture of us in the morning - she heading to the airport, me heading to work.

[Home Improvement]
A few weeks ago I had two contractors come to hang a chandelier in my dining area. One of them frightened me quite a bit - he was asking me weird questions, "checked" out my deck (leaving it unlocked), and randomly wanted to look at my electrical panel. I took a few precautions, and the conductor of the Orchestra I play in even followed me home that evening and did a walk-thru of my place. Those of you who know me well know that it takes a lot to frighten me this much - I've learned my lesson! The good news is that of course the chandelier looks great, and the old fan and lighting fixture was given away for someone else to use! My trash is someone else's treasure!

Two weeks ago I started the pain-staking process of painting my bedroom. Saturday I got the energy to finish painting it! I still have to finish moving the furniture back in, but here is a preview - curtains and all!

I'm not sure what my next project is, but I'm up for ideas....anyone? anyone? :)

[Orchestra Concert]
I had an Orchestra concert yeterday - it was a lot of fun. It was a Tea Dance! We brought in two professional dancers who taught basic waltz steps, and did a dance demo. There was also a live and silent auction (the event was a fundraiser for our group). I bid on one item in the silent auction - 3 months of membership to CURVES, and I won (of course! - because I was the only bidder and I bid one minute before the auction ended....tricky me!) I'm looking forward to checking CURVES out....I've heard great things about it. Of course, I'm going to need to commit now to going 3 days a week - I can do it! Watch out Alaska!

[Basketball NCAA Championship Game]
UCLA is LOOSING tonight....I totally thought they would win the NCAA championship game! It's not quite over, but Florida has had a healthy lead almost the entire game. Since George Mason lost to Florida Saturday, I'm 0 for 2 - VA and CA are loosing states!

[What's next Lord?]
My financial class at church is over, and right now I'm waiting for my girls to restart my small group. What's next Lord? What do you have in store for me? I'm here.

[Mom's Visit]
My mom is coming Friday - woohoo!!!!! We are going to the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade on Saturday - I'll be sure to post pictures! I think we might go shopping too :) It will be nice to have her all to myself for 4 days!
