I am SO behind.....

Where has life gone? It seems to just want to pass by so quickly.........I need to stop to smell the roses! Oh yes, but my roses are long gone - it fact two weekends ago I spent a morning trimming the two thorny bushes in my front yard all the way back. The ironic thing is that I really don't care if they come back in the spring. I find them more annoying than anything else, and they caused me quite a bit of PAIN this year (literally!)

Fall has arrived - I LOVE Fall back here! The leaves are beginning to turn the beautiful golden colors of autumn (what's the differnece anyway between autumn and fall??? anyone? anyone??), and the air is crisp and cool in the mornings and in the evenings - cool enough to open my windows.....then I get to hear all the little creatures - frogs and crickets and who knows what other insects and small animals practicing their love languages, which practically makes me feel like I'm outside! I'm not sure when the peak of Fall is in this part of the country......when I lived in Minnesota, Fall came and went within two weeks - then it was just plain COLD. In Fresno, it arrived late and stayed even later. In Riverside, it didn't really ever show-up (oh yah, palm trees don't turn in the Fall, do they??) Other than my trip to CA this week, I'll be in Virginia all of October, so I'm exxcited to experience all the Fall stuff here. I decorated my house for Fall too - I had a fun time tonight throwing leaves all over my living room. Yes, you read right - leaves! Of course, they are fake, so they won't crumble or stain my carpet :)

This weekend I painted my kitchen red. It was a lot of work, but it was well worth it. I primed it last weekend, and so I only had to do two coats of red paint. It looks SO much better than the lime green - even though the green had started to wear on me. I finally got my table and chairs set up in the kitchen too - so I feel very good about how it turned out. Painting is fun!! Which room should I do next.......my bedroom or the basement? I need inspiration on color for both!
