Busy days...
I've been meaning to post - life has been hectic however! I got back from Alisha and DJ's wedding after Labor Day around 1am in the morning and managed to make it to work on time Wednesday (pretty impressive for me!) Wednesday night I unpacked and washed clothes, then Thursday night I packed up again (but in a smaller suitcase). After work Friday, I headed west of the Shenandoah Valley to Rockbridge, where my church was having a retreat for the weekend. There were three of us who drive together - thanks to Amy who drove the entire way........and back! The weekend was amazing. There were about 450 "Frontliners" there - and I probably met just about all of them. No, just kidding - but I did meet quite a few people! There was swing dancing Friday night, along with the pool/waterslides being open, etc. You can guess where I went - swing dancing! And I played a bit of basketball.....well - at least I tried to make the ball go in the basket :)
Saturday, other than meals and two sessions where we had music and a speaker, we had 6 hours of free time. I played quite a bit of Volleyball - even though I opted to play non-competitive at the last minute. I also played some frisbee golf - LOVE IT! It was a bit humid last weekend, so many of us showered again THAT afternoon. We came back on Sunday afternoon, and then I headed to church and then back home for another night of unpacking.
Last Monday after work, I attended my first "Reston Chamber Orchestra" rehearsal. I found out about the orchestra online, and I'm very excited about it! We have our first concert the last weekend in October. Molly will be coming for a visit that weekend, so she will get to come :) Tuesday night I had small group - always a busy night! The next few nights kinda all ran together - then all of a sudden it was Saturday! I had to work yesterday at a job fair - not too fun - but once in a while I don't mind putting in a few hours on a weekend. I ran a few errands and then came home to begin the process of cleaning and picking up my house. The three hour nap I took was nice too! I found out Shane and Leanna had their second son early Saturday morning - congrats to them and baby Benjamin Eric Prim!!! Last night, I was a loner, but I had SO much to do, and it flew fast.
This morning, even though I went to bed real late, I woke up and pulled plants out in my backyard and frontyard - before it got TOO hot! I headed to church (after showering, of course!) and heard Lon (our Pastor) give an amaizing talk on growing in our relationships with God. This afternoon I finished cleaning, as I'm expecting visitore any minute now - my former Director and his wife. We are going to head to dinner after they come by to see my house. I hope I did an okay job of cleaning this weekend! There was a lot more to do than I thought! But hey, now my place is spic-n-span! (Not that I'd eat of the floor or anything!)
Well thats it for now. God is good - He amazes my everyday, and I get to go back to CA in just 2 1/2 weeks for Sara's wedding. I'm sure the next two weeks will fly by just as fast as the past two did!

wow, you are a whirlwind!!! Glad things are going well.
hey yah! Glad you had a great time at the retreat...and you made up your mind about the volleyball vs orchestra situation. Hope you're enjoying the orchestra!! It sounded like a great opportunity. :-) Don't forget to take some time to relax...slow down...smell the roses...all that good stuff!
