This the spitting stone - a heart-shaped arrangement of cobblestones outside St Giles Cathedral. The tradition dates from when prisoners were led past angry crowds to the gallows in the Grassmarket.

I couldn't take Kristin anywhere. Just look she was spitting, ewwwwwwwww.
are you supposed to spit on the stone or from the stone...I would have doe both, just to make sure.
Luke - you are supposed to let your spit hang out of your mouth until it touches the stone, then slurp it back up :)
