Content where I am, Lord

This year on Valentine's Day, I found myself being content with where I am in my life. This hasn't been the case over the past few years. It was so enjoyable this year, not having to worry about spending the evening out being lovey-dovey with a guy, wondering if he would actually wear the cologne I gave him, or anticipating the traditional gift of flowers and chocolate. Simply put, my expectations were met because I didn't have any! Honestly, though, I really did feel content this year - thank God for His goodness in allowing me to finally feel this way. So many of my friends have had such excitement in their lives over the past two years, I wouldn't be able to keep up if I had that much excitement in my own life. Let's just see what's happened recently:
* Mandy became pregnant,
* Mandy had Thomas Christopher,
* Deborah got married,
* Virginia got married,
* Natasha got married,
* Kristine got engaged,
* Leanna became pregnant,
* Annette (friend from MN) got married,
* Kristine got married,
* Monica (roommate from U of MN) got engaged,
* Kristine became pregnant,
* Leanna had William Edward,
* Mandy became pregnant again,
* Kara (my cousin) got engaged,
* Cathy got engaged,
* Monica got married,
* Tammy became pregnant
* Hannah got engaged,
* Jennifer (friend from MN) had Stephan Alexander,
* Sara got engaged
* Kristine had Ezekiel Warren,
* Mandy had Emily Rebekah,
* Leanna became pregnant again
* Ally got married.

And that brings us to the present time, with at least four weddings this year and the birth of two more babies - I'm exhausted, but extremely estatic! - just thinking about it all! Can you see why I'm so content with where I am in life? Thank you Lord!

Wow! busy, busy. I guess I just have to say that I'm glad to be part of your busy schedule of the last two years. Of course, you forgot to mention all the things you have going on yourself. You know, like buying a condo and then getting the job offer in VA, and selling the condo and getting to move, etc., etc. I'm glad you're so content with your life right now, I'm pretty darn satisfied myself! Love ya.

It's so good to be content - so long as its in your singleness. What a blessing God is giving you to faithfully serve him and not have the relationship that needs lots of attention. Marriage is wonderful but it is work and not all play, especially when you add kids to the mix.
