A full plate

I've spent almost 6 hours in meetings today at work, thus haven't gotten much else done. The problem with having meetings is that when you get out of the meeting, you end up with action items added to your plate in addition to everything else you already had on your plate before you went to the meeting. It's like getting seconds and thirds from a buffet before you eat your first plate. And usually at a buffet, you get to choose what you add to your plate - not true in the workplace. If you go to the meeting, your co-workers help you take seconds and thirds of things you don't really want. Then they wait for you to show proof that it's all been consumed. Hm...maybe I shouldn't have taken that first helping of mashed potatoes in the first place........

that is a REALLY good analogy I know what you mean!!! I took a phone call the other day and ended up with like thirds and fourths.
